the Outlaw Days committee would like to thank the community, volunteers and participants for making the 2009 outlaw days a huge success......stay tuned for the 2010 entertainment lineup"
We are proud to present many fine performances that will bring to life the cultures of the past and the present. The Big Muddy Valley and area is teeming with stories of outlaws and hardship. People settled this area 100 or more years ago and brought with them the music, dance and stories of their people and lands. It is to share this history that the Outlaw Days Festival was born. Join us as we celebrate the history of Saskatchewan and the people that made our province what it is today.
Our Logo:
We are very proud of the logo created by Corby Cairns of Coronach. Corby researched the cultures that were involved in the settlement of the Big Muddy regions and created a logo that beautifully symbolizes each group. The Eagle and the Buffalo were very important to the Metis and First Nations people. The Eagle was important for its meaning of power and wisdom; the buffalo for the people's livelihood (strength, food and clothing). The three feathers represent the Past, Present and Future of the Big Muddy Badlands. The Sam Kelly Cave rand rider represent the Wild West history. The wagon wheel represents both the early settlers and the Metis. The shape of the wagon wheel also represents the continuum of cultures and the rays of the sun.
